Exmouth to Starcross Ferry

The ferry runs between Exmouth and Starcross, from 5 April to 31 October, 7 days a week. A typical crossing time is 15-20 minutes, depending on tides.

This ferry service links up with National Route 2 of the National Cycle Network and cycles can be carried on the ferry for a small additional charge.

Please note the change in times from previous years. This is to coincide with the train timetable.

Please note that well-behaved dogs on leads are allowed on the ferry.

Prices

Single: £4.50 per adult. £3.00 per child.

Day Return: £5.00 per adult. £3.50 per child.

Cycles can be carried for an additional charge (£1 per single or return crossing). Tandems/trailers will only be carried with prior agreement if space available.

Tickets for the River Exe Evening Cruise are available on board the ferry. Purchase your cruise ticket in advance and benefit from offers on a family or adult ticket.

Ferries from Exmouth

The ferry departs and arrives at Exmouth Marina, just a short walk to the beach or a 10 minute stroll in to the centre of town.

Park your car in the car park just up the road from the railway station. Cross the footbridge to our private pier.

Places to go from Starcross

Powderham Castle

Powderham Castle is just 1½ miles away. The No 2 (Stagecoach) bus on route to Exeter (every 15 minutes on average) stops near the Main Gate. On foot, it takes about 25 minutes to walk from Starcross to Powderham Castle along the main road towards Exeter (A379).

Dawlish & Dawlish Warren

For Dawlish Warren and Dawlish take the No 2 (Stagecoach) bus (every 15 minutes on average). On foot, it takes about 25 minutes to walk to Dawlish Warren and about 45 minutes to walk to Dawlish.

Teignmouth & Torquay

Torquay is just 1 hour on the bus or 45 minutes on the train (one every hour). Teignmouth is just 20 minutes on the bus or train.
